MECCO’s dot peen markers are versatile and durable, but in some environments, an impact marker can be too loud. One customer wanted to take advantage of the mark quality and speed, but had strict requirements for the noise level and safety surrounding the marking equipment.

Most factory equipment is controlled through programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to automate processes in assembly lines. While devices such as conveyors, robotic devices, and vision systems typically communicate directly with a PLC using EtherNet/IP™, historically, marking systems have not.

This month’s featured laser marking system is the MeccoMark Rotary Workstation, customized for an application that had the following goals: optimize marking cycle by putting the maximum number of parts in at once, be able to see inside the enclosure for job file set up, easy access for maintenance.

Dave Sweet, President of Mecco Marking & Traceability, recently appeared on an episode of Our Region’s Business, a Sunday morning business affairs television show for the Pittsburgh area, to talk about the long history of the company in the region.

This month’s featured machine is the Dot Peen Tag Marking System. This system is the perfect solution for marking stacks of tags at a time with serial numbers, text, logos, and other information. Featuring a pneumatic pick and place arm, this system lifts tags from a magazine that holds 100 tags.

This EtherMark-Enabled Laser Marking Rotary Workstation utilizes EtherNet/IP communication to allow for easy and flexible communication to the manufacturing floor.

This month’s featured “Machine of the Month” is a MeccoMark Standard Class 1 Enclosure that has been modified for an application requiring the ability to mark round parts.
